Our #DisneySide @ Home Celebration was last Friday afternoon, and boy did we have fun getting to know new friends (and old cousins) better!
If you recall, my family recently moved to Florida from Texas about four months ago. When I was selected to host a Disney Side party, I wasn’t sure if I knew enough people in the area to invite, but you know what? The love of Disney unites people and has created a special bond between my family and the new friends we’ve made here. In addition to new friends, I have a dear cousin who lives not far from me, and I was thrilled that she and her children were able to join us too!
I wrote last week about how we prepared for our party. We decided to go with an Epcot-themed event that included several World Showcase nations: Norway, Italy, Germany, and the American Adventure. Norway was the host country with a greeting area where Guests could mingle and make their own edible Olafs.
From Norway, we split into two groups. One headed to Italy to create stunning Venetian Mickey/Minnie masks and prepare “Minnie” Mickey pizzas, while the other ventured to Germany to make Rapnuzel paper lanterns and decorate Mickey sugar cookies with the colors of the German flag.
Then we joined back together in the U.S.A. to eat our snacks and decorate t-shirts and bandanas.
Our #DisneySide @ Home Celebration was the perfect way to share our love of all things Disney with others who feel the same about the most magical company on Earth! We are so grateful to Disney, Mom Select, American Tourister, Hanes, Ocean Spray, runDisney, Crayola, HP photo papers, 3D Travel Company, and other partners who made this event possible and supplied so many party preparations! What a wonderful way to settle into our new community!
